Sequoia Sherriff (they/them) is a queer, Filipino-Canadian filmmaker, production designer, animator, and published author. They are a recipient of the National YoungArts Award for Cinematic Arts 2018, for their film "What Now Feels Like", about remembering their experiences facing racism as a child. 
They are a recent graduate of New York University Tisch School of the Arts, where they won a variety of student film awards including the Rising Star Award at Fusion Film Festival. Most recently, their crocheted, stop motion animation in the feature film 'Ugly Sweater' has recieved acclaim from Boston NPR. When not animating, they can be found playing Dungeons and Dragons or moderating for Tribeca Film Festival.
